Subject: [CR]When did Masi in California start selling Masi GC frames alone (not built up)?

I have a feeling this might have been in the early 80's but I am very unsure. After they started this could you still, as an option, get them built up from the factory? Most of the pics I see show them built up with SR, NR, or SR reduced group. Could it be they came that way or that most patrons chose to build them that way or both? I am thinking that once Masi offered GC frames alone (not built up), then anything period correct is correct? So one could, for example, have chosen to build up with a mix of SR and Suntour components?
