Afternoon Gents(and Ladies), I recently aquired a mid 60's E G Bates light tourer in pretty original condition except for deraillieurs, the wheels are 26 x 1/4" Milremo 40/32h's laced to very good virtualy unworn Weinmann rims. Now the problem is I intend to get it renovated shortly and due to the possible future shortage of rims/decent tyres is it worth getting the brake pivot's moved to suit 700's? or can Mafac Drivers be adjusted to suit. I understand that 26x 1/4" and 700c's aren't a million miles away from each other but on the Driver body there appears to be little room for adjustment? Also where can I get in the Uk decent 26x1/4" tyres?
