Howdy folks.

So it looks like something will work out for the chainrings, not sure what yet but lots of possibilities. Looking more closely at my two pairs of 170mm arms, I now see that one pair is significantly thinner than the other. The thin pair is French threaded and looks like it had the little disks covering the backs of the pedal holes at one time. As I understand it, these were frequently dislodged for a couple reasons: older French pedals had a shorter threaded area so newer ones popped them out and/or the washers intended to go between the pedal and arm weren't used. My other pair was used for cyclocross and is a bit rough, some apparent corrosion and it appears they were haphazardly drilled for safety wire or something in the dust cap thread area (not structural and not too unsightly).

Anyway, for my upcoming build I would really like to find one of the newer etched logo pairs of arms. I would trade either of mine and would be willing to include some very nice Atom 600 pedals and black alloy Christophe toe clips with the French threaded pair if that appeals to you. It is a trivial matter to rethread French cranks to English, as I understand it just the chaser tap that most shops have will do it. If you have a nice pair of 170mm laser etched arms and either of these would interest you in trade, please let me know. I *might* trade all of mine for the right pair of arms... Thanks again :^)

P.S. The decals on the 'cross set are good, the French set pretty
rough but I do have one pair of replacements.
