Well, pretty much any cyclist who wins a separate WC competition. Just look at the jerseys today; TT single, TT team, road race, cross, juniors (all different categories), every track event (team/single), MTB, ... and then all this again for women. Back in the day there was the whole amateur bit, too. So you probably had 12+ WC every year. Since this has been a point of interes to me too, I have been in the process of collecting information pertaining to riders/their bikes for all of the major races. I have a whole bunch already, and hack them into a excel graph when time permits. I am always open for input, especially the time before 1960. I am sure that a whole bunch of you old guys still have every piece of paper ever written about the topic, so just send it over, ... ;-)
