Voler sells the California Flag jerseys as a standard item. The DIstrict (not state) championship jersey have a roughly similar design, but state what district championship was won on the jersey. There are currently three districts in Califrnia (two of which include either Northern or Southern Nevada). Wearing the WC jersey, a national championship jersey, or a state championship jersey that replicates the real thing is tacky and "Fred" like, IMHO. Sorry, that's the way I feel. Now, if someone gave one to you, because he/she/it won the jersey, signed it, and bestowed it on you...that's okay to wear. It's a slippery slope. Short story: Beth Heiden won the women's world road championship in 1980. When she retired the next year, the company I worked for had already signed her for the '81 season and had jerseys and skinsuits made for her. A very famous Italian clothing manufacturer which will not be named here (Santini, sorry, I lied) produced the skinsuits with the WC stripes UPSIDE DOWN!!! Ha! As in green on top, blue on the bottom. For those who don't know, the blue on the TOP symbolizes the sky, while the green on the bottom symbolizes the grass....or so I was told. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the package from Italy....

Much later I received an Email from someone inquiring about my San Francisco Wheelman jersey pictured in Wooljersey, turns out he was the same fellow in that jersey and had been State Road Champ (as JR) I do not remember if he was a list member or not but it made me feel a bit sheepish that I had been critical of a rider I did not know. Since I ride with a group of TRI atheletes twice a week I am no longer critical of them either (and they seem to have gained a little respect for old school stuff also)
