My first custom was by Colin Laing (a Yorkshireman trained by the Taylor Brothers) back when he lived in Tucson. I remember looking at him out of the corner of my eye when he first issued the word Campagnolo in my presence. He pronounced each syllable with certainty and clarity and just a hint of pause between each: Cam-pag (hard g)-noh-loh. Never heard him utter Campy or Campunyolo.
