Subject: [CR]1982 Lotus Super Pro aero - Shimano AX

I am the new owner of a 1982 Lotus Super Pro aero. For some time I've been collecting Shimano AX equipment and seeking a suitable frame on which to use it. I think it's interesting stuff and I like the unusual. Then along came this bike and I couldn't resist it:

It arrived today and looks excellent. I'm quite pleased. At a glimpse, it all appears original, except, perhaps, for the Avocet saddle (anybody know what saddle it would have had originally?). It's in excellent condition.

The seller stated: "*One of 3 original hand-built prototypes made for 1981 transcontinental record attempt!*" I have no idea whether this is true, nor was it a key factor in my decision to buy. He went on to claim it was featured in :

*Popular Mechanics (July 1982, Page 76), Johnson & Bragg's Triathlon and Bicycling Magazine (February 1982, Page 66)*

Do any of you have copies of either of these articles or know where I can get one? If so I'd love to have a scan.

Thanks,

David
