Hi all, well I finally have converted a Mavic RD500 or 550 hub to
centreless design, now I just need it to be laced up, to the rim that
came with the wheel.
Its a 36H and without the q/r it weighs 147g, I should have weighed it
before I did the conversion, will be interesting to see the final build
and whether its as strong as a normal hub. Its as ugly as sin, but
imagine seeing the wheel revolving and the centre spacer staying still.
I've already come up with an improved version, so if you have a shell
thats got a cracked flange, I'd be interested, not that I've heard of
one of these hub failing.........regards wayne davidson Invercargill
