A disclaimer up front: I sell these tires. But I sell them because I like them so much.

The look fine, but they ride a whole lot better than they look. I use the Cypres on one of my bikes and the Hetre (650B only) on another. These two are the only bikes I regularly use, so they get some miles.

Whether it is how or where I ride, I'm not a person who (knocks on wood) gets many flat tires. If you get a lot of flats, they might not be the best choice. As a person who doesn't get many flats, I can't say I've had many more flats since putting the Gran Bois Cypres--which I assume you're speaking of--on one of my regular riders.

I've yet to have a flat with the Hetres.

I wouldn't call the Cypres tough, but I wouldn't call them fragile. They're a performance tire made to be very comfortable and very fast.

For reference, I would call the Deda Giro d'Italia fragile.
