When you reach the end of the book, it claims that it has been beaten by a half a second. I am no less impressed, he was an amazing individual.

However, I have found, and this is only personal experience, that CF bikes climb really well and accelerate fast. on a flat (or downhill), when they are up to momentum, the heavier steel bikes maintain speed better. More critical, or so it seems, is my form and style (positioning) and smooth cadence on either.
