Hello all,

Well, I stand corrected. I now know that the selling price of the brake set is certainly not a record, and I meant no offense to either seller or buyer.

My comments were prompted by my surprise at the outcome of the auction. I'm used to seeing certain rare items go for commensurate prices, and must admit I wasn't aware of the scarcity of these particular parts. They are definite ly in excellent condition, and it's well known that rare items like this com mand something of a premium.

When I consider the bikes that I've seen which have had these brakes, they'v e always been very nice examples of their kind. That should have been a clue to me.

I hope to see this set on an appropriate machine at some point. Perhaps they are the finishing touch that the buyer was seeking.

Humbly yours,

Chris Wimpey

Its certainly not a record - I have had no-name Campag callipers sell alone for over $800 - $700 or so is about what they always fetch - they really are rather rare.
