Subject: [CR]lyotard bearings and collecting

Bearings for #23: I went to the garage to check. I did not feel like removing the outer cone to accurately check the number of balls in the outer race. It is at least 9, it may be ten, however the majority of the time the balls are of an odd number. This is my favorite pedal of all time. You can imagine my joy yesterday when I discovered I had an extra set, still new, I had forgotten about.

Collecting: I find what I like, if I can afford it I can buy it or trade for it. I don't worry about what the investment value is. The value to in collecting is, does the bike fill a need for me. To collect by value is to me speculation. I am happy when the value of my house increases. Someday we will sell and move. In about 5 to 15 more years. I do not look at my house as an investment. I look at it as my home. I do not look at my '57 Thunderbird as an investment. I look at it as a car I always wanted and have fun with. I don't look at my bikes as an investment, I look at them as fun.

Can't we all just have fun?

Happy Trails,
