<...snip...> " Since I'm usually known as a cheapa**, it usually isn't my style to pay more than $50 for a pair of pedals, let alone over $160. But NIP Hi-E's are a rare exception. Actually, I'd have preferred a dirty used pair at $50, but those just don't come along often. Now all you guys who picked up a pair of Hi-E pedals for $10 at a swap meet, I definitely do not want to hear about it. Now I have to find the right frame to hang these on - an American frame is a must, and I have a few.

hi Jerry,

Congrats on getting a set of Harlan Meyer's creations! You'll have to post a few pictures once you get them set up on a bike.

Can I ask what it was that prompted you to splurge and spend big bucks on these pedals? I'm a fan of Mr. Meyer, especially his hubs and unique "half wingnut" quick release. The novelty of the pedals intrigued me, but they didn't strike me as solving a real shortcoming in conventional pedals. I'd be interested in hearing about the details of your attraction to them.
