the topic moved into quality of frame construction. The opinions of a builder (Brian Baylis) and a bike shop employee/repairer (Dean Patterson) are useful datapoints for determining where Raleighs sit on the scale of build quality. If others like Raleighs for reasons than build quality, than those are datapoints for something other than build quality. Depends on the reasons for which you collect, but many do strive to collect with build quality as a key consideration. I don't hear about many gaspipe bike collectors or Ted Williams Free Spirit collectors on this CR list. If people can bash gaspipe bikes, than can they bash Raleighs?
