> Was the Mondia available widely in the 70's? I don't remember seeing them in central Kentucky and have not a clue where the best hunting is.

Mondias show up here and there around KC. And sometimes mighty minty.

I got my well used 61cm Mondia here in Kansas City 5 years ago The beat-up Orange/White-&-handstriped is still my most freakuent choice when it's not raining. Not a lot of fender margin with the large Vittoria Randonneurs .

My blue one was a local find, too.

There was a bike shop here in the early 70's at Crown Center downtown. Bob Watts was the owner? I knew the guy but at the moment the banks are blank. I hope Sarah will correct the name for me. He died about a year or two back after many years of cycling-advocacy.

He told me he carried Mondias and Moultons and I don't know what else.

Check w/Sarah & Christy at Acme Bicycles.

Or Mark Pace at Pace Bicycle Heaven over in Independence Missouri.

Or Bob at MidTown Cyclery

Or Chris & Jason at Bicycle Shack

Those are the main shops (as far as I know) that trade in used classic bicycles.
