Subject: [CR]CR]Seattle May 5th-11th, looking for vintage ride

Seattle has some fine bike shops that respect (or cater to) the vintage crowd. Elliot Bay Bicycles (home of on-topic & KOF builder Bill Davidson and CR lister Bob Freeman) comes to mind. I'll bet they can fix you up.

Without diminishing any other shop, though, I suggest you head first across the Sound to Jeff Groman's Classic Cycle. He's on Bainbridge Island, only a 5-minute walk (less if it's raining!) from the ferry terminal. The ferry ride over from Seattle (for pedestrians) is cheap, convenient and scenic. You could walk, take a bus or cab to the ferry terminal in Seattle and come back with something from Jeff's shop. If you come back, that is. It's possible to get lost visiting his vintage bike museum, and the riding on Bainbridge is pretty nice, too.

And I'll bet that Seattleite Jan Heine has some suggestions!
