There has been some recent discussion between some of the Dallas area CR me mbers about another Texas area vintage ride. Through this discussion it ha s also been made apparent that no one's schedule seems to work with anyone else's. So we're going to put it to a majority vote, which ever date can g et the most attendance, that's what we're going to go with.
First, the dates up for consideration:
1) Saturday, May 10th 2) Sunday, May 11th
3) Saturday May 24th 4) Sunday May 25th
5) Saturday June 7th 6) Sunday June 8thI'm slightly leaning towards one of the Sunday dates, any of them work for me. A Sunday would possibly allow for some out of town m embers to drive in on Saturday, and if that's the case perhaps have a Satur day evening dinner as we did in Waco last fall.
I suggest a distance of 30-40 miles, conversation pace. I can come up with any number of routes in the North Dallas area which will get us out on som e country roads. Others have suggested White Rock Lake as a possible locat ion, however right now there is a considerable amount of construction work going on down there and much of the trail around the lake is not very condu ctive to 2-abreast riding. If any other members want to suggest other star t locations and routes, I am open to them and will happily go with what eve r plan gets the largest turn out. Anyone who is interested, has suggestion s, etc please let me know in the next week at which time I hope to make a " set time & location" decision.
