Indeed, Suntour and Shimano were, by the 1980's, re-designing their cranks every few years, making for a larger database of compatability when we look back from here.

Suntour's Superbe uniquely adopted the ISO track-standard bb length for their road cranks, while Shimano briefly used a 108mm JIS BB for their aero-model Dura-Ace road cranks. The 108mm JIS bb in this case could be easily replaced with their more recent, 107mm cartridge bb, while the 109mm ISO bb's are most closely matched with current, 111mm bb's. NOS parts or Phil bb's might be the only exact-length choices, but what's a millimeter or two? The Superbe Pro is the loser as it might be hard to find the exact, or slightly shorter spindle length BB, though a BB-7410, 103mm JIS model might work out ok since the taper discrepancy should add 5-6mm to it's effective length.
