Subject: [CR]Freschi Show Bike?

Hello All,

I have just recently picked up a all chrome Freschi Supreme "Super Cromo". I got the bike from a person who says he bought is from a NY city bike shop and paid $3000 for it in 1982. I was a bit sceptical about this claim but when I received the bike it is indeed quite special. The dropouts are Freschi - the rear are very interesting, has typical Freschi indented seat tube for tire clearance. Internally threaded brake cable and shifter cables. "F' cutouts in some lugs and double f cutout in bb shell. Super Record rear derailleur Pat. 80, Super Record crank with titanium axle bb - crank is dated 1978, braze-on front derailleur however this is a "Freschi" modification and not the standard Campy installation. Pedal are SR with titanium spindles, SR headset, Cinelli 1R bars and stem with titanium hardware and leather wrapped (VIP). The seat post is SR with Unicanitor saddle. Shifters are on the top of the down tube and are pantographed. This is typically a later thing but I suspect this may be another Freschi mod done before the idea became popular. Chain is Regina Titano and the outer plates are titanium as well as the freewheel. The bike weighs in at 19 Lbs. The guy I bought it from told me that there had been some sort of bike publication (he could not remember name and has lost the copy he had) that touted the bike as the most exotic bike in the world. It came with a chrome Cinelli bike work stand - he says it was all together. The question I have is: does anyone remember this bike displayed at a trade show? There are photos at:

Any help appreciated.
