Before the time trials specials from herse and a few others, tandems were generally heavy. Since the lightweight specials, oneoffs and two year salary bikes, a load of junk has been produced tandemwise. This has given anything not from a famous maker a very bad name. Recently picked up a very nice thirties tandem. OK, a bit heavy, but attemps at lightening it have been made, the components are quality. Not saving these is as we say in France "throwing out the baby with the bathwater" (why we say that I really can't tell you).

Anyhow, although the pics are not good, you can peep at this one at http://membres.lycos.fr/partspeekers/newpage26.html
