sounds like the dude you dissed was right your version does not appear to be the earliest version.. there are no screws to retain the parallelogram arms. can't tell from da pics, but if the cable stop on yours is not slotted, it is probably from before 1963. so, like, second version ? first generation but second iteration ? i don't kno.. there are many nuances and none of the dates are really stone-set

here is an informative thread with some pics from the bikeforums: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=325222&highlight=campagnolo+front+derailleur+record

don't worry, though.. the people bidding on your part probably know what they are looking for !

I'm selling an early front derailleur on Ebay which I'm told by whom I bought it from is a first generation Record, or the first one produced by Campag, I assume after Gran Sport was discontinued. Do direspect to another list member who wrote advising me that this was not exactly what I had, as he said it was among the earlier Record derailleurs produced in the first generation area, but truly not "the first". If anyone on the list is knowedgeable and can either back this opinion up or help I would like to correct any error on my auction or cancel and relist correctly. The auction pics are at the URL below.
