Older Alan and Vitus frames aren't very stiff. I own both and like riding it and in the past they were used by the pros with great success.

Regarding this ebay sabliere: if one is going to buy a nice cycle it may be a good tactic to try to badmouth it a little bit to catch it as cheap as possible.

The sabliere is an eyecatcher and everyone has to decide if he likes it or not. In fact I think, it isn't the bike I would want to ride but looks nice hanging on the wall in a managers living room like an painting.
