To what extent can newer Dura Ace BB's like 7400 and maybe slightly newer ones be used with On Topic Dura Ace cranks like original DA and DA AX and EX? I find I have accumulated a lot of DA 7400 cranks which came on KOF frames or retrofitted on On Topic frames. This stuff works well and doesn't look bad, but I usually replace it with something more On Topic, although I must confess I retained the 7400 gruppo on a 1988 Mercian KOM, and it works very well. I've been buying some original and AX/EX DA cranks lately, and wonder if I can reuse the 7400 BB's with these.
