Off-list: Greg, I thought your economic comments were right on and to the point. Hadn't occured to me how the current dismal economic situation would affect the classic bike market but it's possible/likely that people 50 and over are a little more likely to retract spending sooner in out of caution in response to darkening economic conditions, and that younger people would retract more slowly or when forced to by personal finances. Too broad a generalization of course but it's making sense to me this morning, via Starbucks.

And your political comment was minimal (one measely reference to the current administration) and only what is widely accepted in the mainstream anyway. Stephan's weird over-reaction to it is preemptory and you have to wonder how the fact that some people are rich makes economic news dissappear (?). Seems to me that rich people are as aware of the current problems as much as the rest of us. Dale can and should shut it down I guess because there's some weird hypervigilence out there choosing to be offended by economic observation.
