Would any of you fine folk know where I can find information about
Claud Butler serial numbers?
I've just bought a shabby, badly painted Butler and having stripped
it clean, found 646 23 DC stamped.
The forks are fully chromed with a lamp bracket but I've yet to find
a stamp...
It came with, what I think looks like, a Williams cottered chainset
with NA8 and NB8 on them. Again, any ideas?
It also has Weinmann/Vainqueur centre pulls and a GB non allen key stem
From what I can gather it could be mid sixties to mid seventies.
Would it be 531?
Under the 're spray' was a beautiful deep mustard yellow with what
must have been white bands.
I would love to restore her to her former glory so any help would be
gratefully received.
