Subject: [CR]Cracked Nuovo Record rear hub flange

I got back from a ride the other day, and when I put my bike away I noticed a crack in a segment of the rear hub flange!

This is a large flange hub, and the crack starts at one of the spoke holes that is over the cut-out in the flange. On the drive side. The crack is through the entire segment, not just the part from the spoke-hole to the outer edge, but the entire segment is cracked.

I don't know the history of this wheel, but it is true, and does not seem over-built in any way.

Is this unusual for a NR hub? Anyone else have this occur? I assume it should not be ridden?

Just wondering what people's experience with this is. It of course brings to mind the catstrophic failure photo of the sheriff star hub.

Thanks
