Subject: [CR]Report from Cirque

We have just completed the banquet and 3rd day of Cirque.? First day was a meet and greet at our gracious hosts, Wayne and M.J's house.? Set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, horse country, historical towns, plus the friends we come here to see, it was a very nice evening.? Wonderful!? Friday began the first official day of Cirque with rides and the auction.? I'll leave it to Gianni Pergolizzi to tell everyone about the auction.? Other than not getting to bed until after 1:30AM, I loved it.? Today, rides (not taking credit here as I didn't ride), naps, naps, and the great seminar program---Dale Brown, Steve Bilenky, and a framebuilders forum chaired by Dale Brown with Doug Fattic, Mark Nobilette, and Brian Baylis.??I learned a LOT!!? Finally, the annual banquet where we had the opportunity to hear our guest speaker tell us about the cycling connection by the man who created Champion and A.C. spark plugs.? It was a time of transition in the world of transportation and Peter did a great job capturing a special figure of that era.? I had the opportunity and honor of presenting the 2008 and Mike Richardson Memorial and Classic Rendezvous Vintage Bicycle Award? to Chuck Schmidt.? This is the sixth year for the award and Chuck is a very deserving awardee.? Congratulations Chuck!? ? Lou Deeter, Orlando FL USA, temporarily in Leesburg,VA.?
