I am interested in trading a Masi Gran Criterium. The bike is a 58cm ctt on the seat tube and 56cm ctc on the top tube. It was purchased in '76 but th e original Campagnolo components (still on the bike) are dated '73. The bik e is all original Nuovo Record aside from the signature "Faliero Masi" 3T s tem and bars. LF Campy hubs are laced to Super Champion clinchers.
I've had a Masi before, but didn't notice how clean the lug work was until I this one. It seems ALL the lugs have been carefully filed very thin, even the underside of some lugs and the fork crown.
The whole thing should be disassembled and cleaned up to shine again. It's been sitting for a long time. The hub axles and pedal spindles spin smoothl y and where obviously well maintained this whole time. There is also faint specks of surface rust on areas of the frame. I think it could be cleaned o ff and I personally would not consider repainting as all the decals are int act and in perfect condition. From a couple feet away you don't see any rus t except for on the fork crown, headset and quick release levers.
I would be interested in trading it for a Jack Taylor around 55cm, or a nic e Italian or Japanese ~54cm track frame. Other trade offers are welcome as well...
Pictures on request.
