Subject: [CR]1920s-30s CCM

I Just picked up a CCM track bike, maybe 1920s or 1930's. The serial # is E6170, stamped Upside down on the left side of the seat cluster. But I'm guessing that won't be much help figuring out the date or model. The CCM page linked to from the CR Canada page seems to be gone, so no info there either.

The whole thing is covered in a thin layer of silver paint. Whoever did it made an interestingly complete job of it, covering the seat frame, spokes, pretty much everything except the seat top, rims, stem and grips. Was this a common thing back then? I'm thinking of removing it since the original paint underneath looks reasonably nice. Any thoughts/advice on this would be appreciated.

I put up a few pics here Http://www.mindspring.com/~sblackstone/side.jpg

The one of the grip didn't come out very well, but I think the grips are very cool. They have zeppelins molded into the sides. Which makes me think it's got to be before 1937.

It seems to be all original, including the petrified tires, which are another cool thing.
