Let me put in a plug for the much-maligned brand Pletscher. Their "Athlete" model mounts to seatstay eyes or brake bolt and is much sturdier than the common mousetrap rack. And if you're lucky, you can find a basket that hooks to it (or use Pletscher's own rack/basket systems).
