There is a bit of a problem with the laptop panniers, including Jandd. Looking at the dimensions of a couple of brands, they seem to handle laptops with up to 14" screeens. But my laptop is a more recent one with a 17" display, plus I have a very nice laptop case I want to use, so I want to put the whole case in a pannier. I actually mounted a classic Blackburn rack from a CR member last night on my Schwinn World Voyageur recently converted to 650B wheels. I have a pair of Carradice front panniers, which can be used on the rear as well, but they proved too small. So I took a pair of Trek shopping bag panniers off another bike. The width and height are about right to fit the laptop case and all, although the depth is much greater than necessary. Rode in to work this morning, and it worked fine. I think I want something a little more classic than the Treks longer term. The only nice ones I have seen that look large enough are the Carradice shopping bag pannier and maybe the Dutch panniers VeloOrange sells. Or, for really big bucks, the large size Berthoud panniers would seem to fit.

My simple testimonial. I've been using two Jandd commuter panniers just about every day for something like 15 years now. No problems and I carry a lot. Perfect size for clothes, books, laptop, lunch, tool kit.
