Subject: [CR]Introduction (and a bike for sale)

Hi everyone,

My name is Michael, I'm from Portland, Oregon. I love beautiful old bicycles (and particularly cherish my copy of The Golden Age of Handbuilt Bicycles), and am interested in learning more about them. I own 8 bikes currently, but they lean decidedly toward the modern, though I suppose my Rivendell Atlantis wouldn't get me thrown out of a ride with you all. (Keeper of the flame, right?)

I don't drive, and ride my bike for transportation and pleasure, often at the same time. I commute, tour, randonneur, and race.

Looking forward to participating here.

-Michael

I also have a bike for sale. (Note that I'm going to cross-post this on Internet BOB list, so pardon me if you get this twice.) I'm selling a vintage, silver brazed 1982 Trek 710 on behalf of my father. It's a 60 cm frame, with steel Reynolds 531 tubing. It's got a SunTour drivetrain with Superbe brakes. It's really in gorgeous shape, near perfect. A couple scuffs on the drive side chainstay, and some minor scuffs on the top tube. Otherwise perfect, with a beautiful lusterous blue paint job. He's asking $700.

Pictures in the link below, along with pictures of a Klein that I am also selling on behalf of my friend Becca (but obviously not appropriate for this forum). I would be happy to provide further detail shots upon request.
