If anyone is in the market for a Ti railed Swift, have I got a deal for you. Having taken inventory, I suddenly realize I've somehow managed in the last few years to accumulate more Swifts than I am likely to use in a lifetime, especially considering I turned 59 on Saturday. Unless of course I live to be 99 and cycle actively right up to the moment that I drop dead while climbing the biggest hill in the area. If that should be the case, I hope to have the presence of mind, baring Alzheimers, to utter as my last words, "Put me back on my bike!". A bit of plagurism, that, but I think Tom Simpson will understand.
But to get to the point, one Brooks saddle I don't have but would like to do is the Swallow. I notice Brooks has recently reintroduced the Swallow with chromed steel rails at a more affordable price than the Ti railed version they first reintroduced.
At Wallingford, they are currently selling the Ti railed Swift for $348, while the steel railed Swallow is going for $226. So here's the deal. I will trade a Ti railed NIP Swift even up for a steel railed Swallow. Most of my length in Swifts seems to be in the honey color, so that is what I will supply. I'll even include the tin (actually a plastic container) of Proofhide and the allen wrench for adjusting the tension. The Swallow can be black, brown or honey. NIP, NOS or I'll even accept a used one with minimal use - the steel rail Swallow was reintroduced so recenly, I doubt anyome has put too many miles on one.
So if you are planning to buy a honey Ti Swift, you can buy a steel railed Swallow instead, trade it to me, and save $122.
