Jerry, One method I have used is packing dry ice around the seat post, and then heating the seat tube with a hairdryer. Part two of the process involves clamping the post into a securely anchored bench vise, and then putting a 2 X 4 through the center of the frame and pushing until you hear a loud ****SNAP****. Which you hope was the post breaking free, and not the frame breaking.

Unfortunately, this method works best with micro-adjusting posts, which clamp securely in the vice. Plain posts will twist in the vise, unless you can clamp something on an then put that into the vise.
