One does not need plastic tape to finish when wrapping from the bar end up, it does look, after all, like plastic. I like to use hemp twine and there is a good illustration of how to end it off on the Rivendell site or if it's not there anymore, I think I have it on file and will send it to anyone requesting it via E-Mail.
