I am selling Masi #440 MC62, built in Carlsbad, CA in 1974. I bought the frame and fork used on ebay. I had Ed Litton re-chrome and repaint it (torquoise with blue accents), with period decals. I had Tim Parker (racing/wrenching when it was new, Mavic neutral service mechanic at the Tour de France) build it for me. I did my best to build it with period-correct parts, in either NOS or very good condition. I've never ridden it since the build. In fact I never properly finished the build. I'm selling it with unwrapped bars and several tape options, as evidenced in the first photo; white tressostar, yellow tressostar, yellow Benotto cello tape and blue Benotto cello tape. I also thought about going with yellow brake housing and yellow shifter covers to go with the yellow accents in the paint, so I'm including a set of Casiraghi cables and yellow housing, and yellow Campagnolo shifter covers. Also included is a NOS MASI California bottle (THAT cost me a pretty penny.) and a blue Cinelli tubular bag, NOS in the bag. Yes, I am a dork.

Some numbers:

42cm c-c Cinelli (old-logo) Campione del Mondo bars 13cm Cinelli (old logo) Cinelli stem 58.5cm top tube, c-c 60cm seat tube, c-c 36-hole wheels, 3X (14g-15g-14g) (Martano rims, Record hubs, DT spokes) 14-24 5spd 42-52 175mm cranks (1981 date code, best I could do and get the right length)

Sorry, the bike was dusty during the final shoot. It's been hanging in my garage.

I have too much money into this bike. I never planned to sell it, but a financial crunch and a need for more bike money means I'm selling it.

Price is $2400, with extras. Free shipping in the USA. Paypal or money order or cashier's check.

If you're in or near Northern California, I can meet you part-way to avoid boxing and shipping the bike.

It has one defect that I'm aware of; one of the Campagnolo dropout adjusters is bent. It was NOS when it was built but I bent it somehow in my garage. Tires are nothing special - Vittoria Rallys - glued three years ago and never ridden. They could possibly use a re-glue.

The girl and the puppy are not included in sale of the bike.
