You cant chrome aluminum or aluminum alloy, it is just polished and ICS was not necessarily the firm (or Person) that did the work.? BT

Whoops. Sorry, not the case, Bruce.

Chrome over aluminum, however not-so-smart from a durability point of view, can indeed be accomplished and has been done for some time. There was a short-lived fad for BMX stuff to come chrome-over-aluminum...

ICS used it a lot on various components including cranks, stems, brake calipers, etc.

There was a notorious show Masi at the New York International Bike Show in the late 1970s that had very many of it's aluminum parts chromed...

Looks like a typical Super Record to me, except it has been reworked by ICS

They removed the anodizing from Campy parts, and either highyly polished or actually chromed them. I don't know which it was, as my ICS stuff is limited to a couple of chainwheels, so I've never seen the other stuff "in the flesh". Chroming alloy components seems a bit silly to me, but I know this was occasionally done.

The link shows the chromed rear brake calipers on an ICS Magni. I am curiou s whether these calipers are Super Record or another variant of Campagnolo gr oup. Any information would be appreciated by George
