I have a pair of 30's pedals with some bizarre (to me) straps. The clips ar e stamped Lapize, and the strap, hardened by time and grime, grease and gri t , is either cotton or sisal. Does anybody have info on this type of toe c lip strap ? There are three layers of fabric glued together with a glue tha t is still pretty tacky. Restoration I'm not sure of, I need to dissolve th e muck, probably paint thinner, but not sure if this will deteriorate the f abric. Any info, experience or suggestions more than welcome.
