After I finish the Ciocc my next restoration is going to be a 76' Schwinn S uperior I have had forever and almost rode into the ground. Ciocc finished pics will be this week, but I wanted to get started on the Superior soon.

The big issue I am having is finding parts, and from what I see everythin g is French Huret I guess. The big problem I am having is locating a rear d erailleur for it. Normal derailleurs don't work on it, the adjustment sto p on the dropout is farther back than on normal bikes. Here is a pic

The adjustment screw on a normal rear derailleur will not work. Does this r equire some sort of special Huret rear derailleur?

The orgirinal one was a Suntour that was ghetto-rigged with a bent adjustme nt screw, but from what I have read those were not offered from the facto ry on this frame.

Quick little history on this, I purchased this almost 4 years ago from a Schwinn dealer who had no clue what it was and we all had thought it was a Paramount, but I noticed a lack of Campagnolo parts and upon further rese arch, discovered it was a rare Superior frame. I have seen I think ever l ike 2 of these. This one was originally red and that will be the color I us e on it when I do powdercoat. I have probably put thousands of miles on thi s bike, and it shows it. It's pretty light, 4130 Chromoly tubing appare ntly, and fillet-brazed welds. The rims are the original Araya 27" x 1 1/ 4 aluminum rims and all they really need is a minor truing and some Mother' s polish.

Any help greatly appreciated
