Robert and all,

Check with your local public library and/or historical museums and ask if they have a staff archivist. An archivist will be able to help

you find the right vendor(s) or processes for preserving and/or copying the documents that you have as carefully as possible. If all else fails, call the Smithsonian Institution or the National Archives

in Washington, DC, for a referral, since you are in Virginia. They most certainly will be able to advise you.

Regards,
