With the classic TA and Stronglight axles, most types, i.e. track, double a nd triple came in two lengths, one for 68mm French/English BB's and another 2 mm longer for Italian BB's.  For example, a Stronglight road double wa s 118mm for French/English, but 120mm for Italian.

Dear Listees,

I went and checked with my ancient Mel Pinto catalog and the TA catalog reprint in there has a chart that does list the following :

#314 = 111.5mm #344 = 114.5 #373 = 118 #374 = 121.5mm

But there is a later chart that I have from the Sheldon Brown (RIP) site that adds 2mm to every one of the above measures, except the #314 at 111.5

mm on both.

So, it seems that I could also use / am looking for a #373 x 118mm.

Maybe it would be easier to just state : I am looking for a TA axle at either 116.5 OR 118 mm long.

Thanks to Mark Agree and Wayne Bingham for pointing out the exceptions that

have clued me into the dual spec's on the same model numbers.

Once again, I appreciate the beauty of a Phil Wood bb !
