Quote: "According to Zeus' 1977 catalog, the BB cups and crank fixing bolts for the 2000 crankset were also Ti. Anti-seize compound is probably a good idea assembling these as steel-Ti and Ti/Ti threaded interfaces are known to be prone to seizing."

It is also a good idea to tighten the cranks on with steel bolts to the correct torque, then remove them and intall the titanium bolts (with anti-seize.)

I am pro-anti-seize any time steel and titanium are snuggling together. It's more than a good idea; it ought to be the law. Bearing grease will not do the job.

Recently I have had to remove, from steel frames, two very stuck titanium seatposts. They did not have anti-seize on them. Neither was fun. Both required a torch. One did not survive (it arrived here already damaged beyond saving.)
