Forgive me if you've heard this story before, but I can't resist adding it to this thread. When I visited the Taylors in 1982, Jack Told this one story: "Your American Bycycling (read in a british accent) said we didn't file our joints well enough. We never have filed our joints!" I too watched Norman wield his magic torch and it looked so easy. Almost as easy as Jack laying down varnish transfers and box lining with a wheel.

cheers!
