Subject: [CR]Toe Clips for SR Pedals

Hi Folks, A friend recently gave me a near mint 1983ish Raleigh Alyeska touring bi ke. I had never paid any attention to Raleighs of this era but it is act ually a pretty cool bike kitted out in Raleigh badged mid ranged Japanes e components. It rides great...also a suprise! My question concerns the pedals. They are Raleigh branded but also are s tamped SR SP152. They are quill type pedals but have unusual provision f or toe clips. Rather than holes for screws running front to back in the cage there is a turned lip on the front cage with two holes roughlt 3/4" apart for two screws running vertically through the toe clips and pedal s. I have never seen any toe clips drilled this way....any suggestions o n what I should look for? Better yest if any listmember has a spare set to sell I would be most appreciative. Finally, I have to say after working on a few low/mid ranged bikes (incl uding this Raleigh) recently I have been suprised that I got near as muc h satisfaction out of tinkering with them as I have tinkering/throwing m oney at the Alex Singers, Hetchins, etc. that I have owned it the past! I can understand others attraction to Schwinn Super Sports and the like.
