John,

Thanks for putting that out there. It is too bad people are selling Camp agnolo frame builders tools as "collectors items" for $3000 and sometime s more. It makes it really tough for these younger aspiring frame builde rs to get the tools to build frames without going broke trying to get a Campag. tool kit. I know several newer guys who need frame building tool s and can't afford to cough up the money because everyone and their brot her wants one in their garage to horse around with their bikes. Truth be told, those tools should not be used to just remove paint from head tub es, fork crown races, and the sides of BB shells. Any decent frame shoul d already have left the factory properly faced and tapped. Almost any pr oper tool will install a headset correctly. The best way to remove fresh paint from those areas is a steady hand and a fresh #10 (NOT a typical #11, BTW) exacto knife blade. Using frame building tools for prepping bi kes is serious overkill and it's not good for the tools. Those tools are meant to mill and face freshly built frames. That's why it's called a f rame builders tool kit.

I saw on Craig's List what was called a complete framebuilders tool set. It is located in Half Moon Bay, south of San Francisco on Highway 1. The s ell er wants $3000. He says it is complete and apparently is unused from bei ng

bought 30 or 30 years ago. It is the big wooden box.
