Subject: [CR]Cinelli or ? made frames for select Japanese companies in the 80's?

After doing some research on various Japanese bike companies, it came to my attention that Cinelli was involved with at least one of them, specifi cally Lotus. There appears to be frames made of Columbus tubing, when the Tange, and a myriad of others were avilable at the time.

As Bob Jackson was building the most complex frames and lugs for Hetchins from the 70's on, is it as possible that Cinelli was doing the same for J apanese bike companies in order to enhance the obvious quality of their 'To p line' products as well as prestige and entry into that market? Rumours ab ound, that's why I'm here, is for the facts.

The frame treatments don't look Japanese to me from the pics that I saw, in detail. Did Masi, Cinelli or De Rosa do any contract work in the mid-8 0's to your knowledge?

Mark Greven Spokane ( The dry side where we can ride 5 more months without a bailing bu cket) lol.
