The correct pronunciation of Alex Singer is the way Monsieur Singer himself pronounced his name. And he pronounced it the French way. Not quite "sanjay" but more "sanjear."

Others may choose to pronounce a name incorrectly in their native language, rather than making a fool of themselves. That is totally valid, but does not make their pronunciation correct.

Now if the French could agree on spelling names correctly. You won't believe how many spellings the contemporary French cycling press invented for the PBP-winning tandem team of Lucien Détée and Gilbert Bulté!
