Bob is right. The model was called the "Rekord." We sold them at Bixby Knolls Bicycle Center in Long Beach, CA in 1971-2. The bike in question is in beautiful shape, though...

Sad to say Bob but its not the holy grail,This bike dates from 1971 or so and was 2nd or from the bottom. Tubing is basic(how do you say Gas Pipe in Italian) and I recall a $129.00 selling price. I did notice this auction and was amazed someone would bid that much for one. My own estimation in value even in the ''time machine'' condition would be a fraction of that bid. But value in the end is what someone would bid. This bike also signals the era when Bianchi was willing to paint any bike the signature Celeste.
