Subject: [CR]My First (Definitely "KOF") Frame -- now painted

Dear CR Listmembers,

I just got my first frame back from the painter's -- and I'm mighty excited. Noah Rosen of Velocolour here in Toronto did the paint. He has been painting Mariposas and numerous restorations for some time now -- and as my frame shows, he knows what he's doing with box lining!

It's a fixed-gear bike based on the Rene Herse "winter training bike" in Bicycle Quarterly 5.2. Its build will include hammered Honjo fenders (pinstriped to match the frame -- I'm doing this myself, and the paint is drying as we speak), Grand Bois 700x28s, Tektro R538 sidepulls, wheels built on Phil Wood low-flange hubs... and, well, not too much else.

Many thanks are due to members of this list for providing me with lots of ideas and inspiration. It was the CR list that led me to Doug Fattic's class in the first place, and to resources like BQ and the Golden Age book (and so I publicly thank Jan Heine as well!)

Stay tuned over the next couple of days as I get it ready to ride!
