Dan , Terrific idea, thanks. However , I don't think I'm up for a 60+ mile ride . WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO , is drive to Annanpolis from NO VA , and ride out the B&A to meet you on the route , probably in vincinity of BWI . Anyone with similar predicaments or time constraints are welcome to join me.
I just completed a tour of the Black Hills SD a couple of weeks ago. There were three of us self supported, leaving our vehicle at a B&B for the six day tour . Here are some comments and pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30941341@N06/ This is the best tour I've ever been on , lucked out with perfect weather , no traffic angst or anxiety , in fact, very little traffic on the scenic highways, and it was all friendly and courteous. regards, Tom Roberson, Gainesville, VA

Friday, October 17th at 9:00 am, ~68 miles or so, Fixed and vintage steel.

Please come to do a nice fixed gear ride from the southwest side of Baltimore, through Patapsco State Park, around the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport loop, down the Baltimore & Annapolis (B&A) trail into Annapolis for a crabcake (or other) lunch adjacent to ego alley at the harbor ... and back! It's about 68 miles or so and Friday to avoid the crowds. It's very fixed gear friendly (honest!) with only one decent hill at the end. Geared bikes are welcome too, if that's what you've got. The airport loop rolls mildly, Patapsco State Park is nice and lightly traveled, and the B&A trail is flat. Traffic is mild except in the outskirts of old towne Annapolis, but it's short.

I'm planning to visit Velo Orange too, open from 11-4. http://www.velo-orange.com/ Chris Kulczycki has replied to my e-mail that he will be available. It's a place I've been wanting to visit for quite some time.

We'll meet at 9:00 am at the Catonsville park and ride on the southwest side of Baltimore with easy access from DC and MD Rte 95. Reply to my e-mail if you're interested in coming and can get Friday off. I'll make sure you have directions. It's a long ride so we'll leave fairly promptly, but as most of it is bike path and car free, there will be plenty of time to converse. I hope you've all been riding and have the legs for a longer vintage ride. And of course, with it being October, the ride will be weather dependent, but next week is stacking up to be nice so far.

I'm looking forward to ride it, even if it's with just one other person. But come out for a nice ride!
